Rodney Dexter Henrikson
Rodney Henrikson devoted his life to serving others with passion, generosity and a deep Christian commitment. A native of Abington, Massachusetts, he led community and missionary projects in the Dominican Republic for more than two decades.
In 1986, after a missionary visit to La Romana, he saw the urgent need for medical care for Haitian sugarcane workers and their families. That vision led him to promote the construction of clinics, schools and what is now the Good Samaritan Hospital, which today saves thousands of lives and provides dignified employment to hundreds of Dominicans.
As a result of his dedication, a school in one of the bateyes was named in his honor: the Rodney Henrikson Primary School. Today his legacy lives on in every child who studies, every teacher who teaches and every life transformed in our classrooms.
